21 Days of Prayer
Last prayer campaign of 2014. The meetings will take place on weekdays in the temple of Renewal Presbyterian Anjo Church from 20:00. On Saturdays the prayer time will be after the Bible School and Sunday during the services. The campaign period will be between November 30 (Sunday) and December 20 (Saturday / conclusion).
Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible”. Matthew 19.26
I ate no choice food; no meat or wine touched my lips; and I used no lotions at all until the three weeks were over. Daniel 10.3
He said, “Daniel, you who are highly esteemed, consider carefully the words I am about to speak to you, and stand up, for I have now been sent to you.” And when he said this to me, I stood up trembling. Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. Daniel 10.11-12
The text of Matthew’s Gospel is located in the conversation of Jesus with the rich young man. Despite all his dedication and faith still lacked one thing; accept the invitation of the Master to be his disciple.
The refusal to follow Jesus was compared to refuse to enter the kingdom of God. Here is a resounding affirmation of the Master. It is very difficult for a person who trusts in riches to enter the kingdom of heaven. However, Jesus adds; for men it is impossible, but with God all things are possible!
With men it is impossible to convert someone. It is impossible to change the way you think, impossible to generate faith, impossible to change habits, impossible to change the values, impossible to transfer wealth (as who owns and enjoys the comfort they provide, do not give way to any hand). It is impossible to heal the soul, impossible to cure certain kinds of physical diseases, impossible to promote spiritual liberation.
In the text sequence (Mt 19.27-29) observe the dialogue this time with Peter. He asks Jesus what would be of those who have left everything to follow the Master. Those who decided to accept the invitation to be his disciples, placing him as a priority in their lives.
Jesus said that all his followers would receive one hundred times the amount (volume, quantity) of everything they chose leave behind to fulfill God’s will in their lives. Imagine: left a house (100 homes). Gave an offer (100 times the value of the offer). Left an opportunity (100 new opportunities). Gave up the privilege of living with a loved one, Father case, mother or children (no quotes the spouse) will receive 100 times the value of this sacrifice. And finally will receive what was impossible for the rich young man; free entry into the Kingdom of Heaven!
But all this was revealed to Peter only when he asked Jesus and He decided to clarify it! We only obtain answers when we seek in God. This takes us to the first 21 days of prayer campaign recorded in the Bible, made by the prophet Daniel (Dan 10.1-12).
The angel of the Lord met strong opposition of demons to bring the answer to Daniel. And two characteristics of Daniel’s posture in prayer are common with the speech of Peter and essential in receiving answers from God; the search for knowledge (plans, will for me, biblical interpretation) and humiliation (we cannot do anything without God, so always we need to talk with him and be guided by Him).
Our prayer on this first day is for Him to hear our prayers from now and intervene positively in problems that until this day were impossible for us.
May the Lord grant us many victories and a next year filled with the Holy Spirit, conquests, salvation, baptisms, family restoration, prosperity, growth, healing. May He answers your purposes to be presented before His altar in the next 21 days.
